Devido a um estágio profissional que estou a fazer em Paris, o Pinta-Narizes viu-se forçado a tirar "férias"... Retomamos a actividade a partir de Janeiro de 2010, com muita força e criatividade. Até lá, mandem e-mails, comentários e, sobretudo, não se esqueçam de mim ;)

Because I am doing a professional training in Paris, Pinta-Narizes was forced to "go on holidays"... We will return in January 2010, with loads of strength and criativity. Until then, please send e-mails, comments and, above all, don't forget all about me ;)

Holandeses em Algés/Dutchies in Algés

Ter amigos no estrangeiro é muito giro, mas também é complicado, sobretudo quando as saudades apertam... Por isso mesmo, dois dos nossos amigos holandeses decidiram visitar-nos :) Foram 15 dias em grande, com muita diversão... e também com pintura! Pois é, até no estrangeiro tenho apoiantes da mui nobre causa da pintura facial :) Obrigada!

Having friends living abroad is cool, but it is also complicated, especially because I miss them very much... That's why two of our Dutch friends decided to come and visit :) He had 15 great days, with loads of fun... and also face painting! Yep, even my foreign friends support my face painting cause :) Thank you!

Baptizado do Diogo / Diogo's Christening

Este sábado fui fazer a animação do baptizado do Diogo. Foi muito giro... Pintei imensas caras, fiz animais e flores e espadas e chapéus em balões e acho que os miúdos se divertiram imenso ( e eu também). Muito obrigado a esta família que tão bem nos acolheu, e aos pais de todos os meninos, por terem permitido a publicação das fotos no blogue ;)

Last Saturday I did face painting and balloon twisting at Diogo's Christening party. It was great fun... I've painted lots of faces, twisted balloons into animals, flowers, swords and hats and I think the kids had lots of fun (and so did I). A big thank you to this family for their warm welcome, and to all the parents, who have granted their permission for me to put the photos on this blog ;)

Aniversário do Salvador/Salvador's birthday

Hoje fui pintar a uma festa de aniversário (Parabéns, Salvador!). Pintei princesas, tigres, cães, lobos, leões e piratas num ambiente muito agradável. Não tenho fotos para mostrar porque não consegui ter permissão dos pais (que não estavam presentes na festa), o que me fez ver que preciso arranjar um documento que me permita obter o consentimento dos pais para utilizar as fotos no blogue... Vivendo e aprendendo! Ah, e obrigada, Isabel ;)

Today I went to paint at a birthday party (Happy Birthday, Salvador). I painted princesses, tigers, dogs, wolves, lions and pirates in a very nice environment. I don't have photos to show because I couldn't get the parents' consent (because they were not at the party), which made me realize that I need to get a document which will grant me parental consent to upload the photos to this blog... Oh well, you live, you learn! Oh, and thank you, Isabel ;)

Mais experiências / More experiments

Afinal não houve workshop... Mas pelo menos fiquei com os materiais prontos e aprendi algumas coisas... Também aproveitei para subornar o Costa com um jantar a troco de pintura. O resultado está à vista. É a minha primeira caveira eheheheh

There was no workshop after all... It got cancelled. Well, at least I have all the materials ready for next time and I've learned a few things... I also took the chance to bribe Costa with dinner in exchange for face painting. Here's the result. It's my first skull ever eheheheh

Mudança de planos/Change of plans

Afinal o workshop passou para dia 21... Não faz mal, assim tenho mais tempo para me preparar :) E, como tenho mais tempo, aproveitei para experimentar mais uns desenhos. Quem disse que há uma idade para ser pintado?

I had to change the date of the workshop for the 21st... But it's ok, I have more time to prepare :) And, because I have more time, I've decided to try out some new designs. Who said there's an appropriate age for one to be painted?

Na Terça-feira de Carnaval fui, mais uma vez, fazer pintura facial na Fnac de Alfragide. Foi um dia super-divertido. Pintei miúdos e graúdos e toda a gente se divertiu imenso, a começar por mim. Ora vejam...

Carnaval I

O Carnaval é uma das minhas festas favoritas, porque permite que miúdos e graúdos dêem asas à imaginação e se tornem nos seus personagens favoritos.
Ir trabalhar mascarada é, para mim, um recarregar de baterias, uma forma de expressão, um pequeno divertimento que, no balanço geral, faz toda a diferença.
É também a altura perfeita para fazer pintura facial, ajudando os rostos a expressar o que lhes vai na alma.
É ainda uma excelente altura para ir sair com os amigos... Aqui fica um pequeno registo :)

Carnaval is one of my favorite festivities, because it allows both kids and grown-ups to free their imagination and become their favourite characters.
Going to work in a costume is, for me, a fresh start, a way of expressing myself, a small amount of fun that makes all the difference.
It is also the perfect time to do some facepainting, a way to express on your face what you want to be.
Last but not least, it is a great time to go out with your friends... So, here's a little of it :)

Ursos/Idiots

Ontem fui, mais uma vez, tentar saber o que é preciso fazer para poder pintar caras na rua... Pois a conclusão é... Ninguém sabe! No entanto, se eu chegar a algum lado, instalar uma banca e me puser a pintar, há-de aparecer alguém a pedir uma licença que ninguém me sabe dizer qual é nem como se consegue. Maldita burocracia! Que país de ursos...

Yesterday I went again to try and find out what do I need t do in order to do face painting on the street... And the conclusion is... Nobody knows! However, if I go out on the street, put upmy stall and start face painting, someone will come and ask me for a permit that nobody knows which permit it is or how to get it. Damned bureaucracy! This country is full of idiots...

Fim-de-semana em casa/Weekend at home

É sempre bom ir a casa de fim-de-semana... E aproveitar para tortuar toda a gente com a pintura facial eheheheheh. Aqui ficam alguns exemplos de como passar uma noite chuvosa de sábado de forma super-divertida! Nem o cão escapou...

A prática faz a perfeição/Practice makes perfect

Este ano a Convenção de Pintura Facial da FABAIC é em Orlando, nos Estados Unidos... Gostava imenso de ir, mas os tempos não estão fáceis e estamos em crise eheheheh. Por isso o melhor mesmo é ir praticando. Pode ser que assim consiga ganhar o suficiente para ir à do ano que vem ;)

This year the FABAIC Annual Face Painting Convention isin Orlando, US... I'd really like to go, but these are tough times and there's a financial crisis, you know eheheheh. Therefore, I thought I'd better practise. Maybe this way I can make enough money to go to next year's Convention ;)

De volta/ Back

Feliz 2009! Após quase 2 meses sem internet, o Pinta-Narizes está finalmente de volta ;) Fazer mudanças é sempre complicado e leva algum tempo até as coisas voltarem a funcionar normalmente. Espeo que 2009 traga muito trabalho, muitas actividades giras e desenhos novos. Até lá, aqui ficam dois desenhos muito simples para vos desejar um 2009 sempre em festa.

Happy 2009! After alost 2 months without internet, Pinta-Narizes is finally back ;) Moving is a complicated process and it takes some time before things go back on track. I hope 2009 will bring lots of work, fun activities and new designs. Until then, here are two simple designs to wish you a party-on year.

Noite das Bruxas/Halloween

Esta altura do ano é perfeita para fazer pintura facial... Como tal, apanhei a minha cobaia favorita e resolvi experimentar uns desenhos novos ;) Ficou muito fixe!

This time of year is absolutely perfect for face painting... Therefore, I caught my favourite guinea-pig off guard and decided to try some new designs ;) It came out just great!

Novidades! /News!

Pensaram realmente que eu estive todo este tempo sem fazer nada? Pois não e verdade! Tenho andado a preparar uma surpresa... Modelagem de balões ;) Pois é, a partir de agora, o Pinta-Narizes conta também com mais este serviço. Espero que gostem.

So, did you guys really think I was just lying around doing nothing? Well, not true! I've been working on a surprise... Balloon twisting ;) Yep, from now on, Pinta-Narizes has this service to provide as well. I hope you like it.

Acção/Action

Como estou farta de esperar que me contactem, decidi eu dar o primeiro passo. Andei a distribuir cartões pelos externatos e escolas perto de casa e enviei e-mails para todos os sítios que me lembrei que pudessem estar interessados em contratar-me... Como já disse anteriormente, a passividade não é o meu forte ;) Agora é torcer para que funcione!

As I am tired of waiting for people to contact me, I've decided to make a move. I've handed business cards to all the schools near home and sent e-mails everywhere I could remember... As I mentioned before, passivity is not my strongest feature ;) Now, I'll cross my fingers and hope it will work!

Convite/Invitation

Recebi um convite para participar de uma convenção internacional de pintura facial! A australiana com quem fiz formação recomendou-me como convidada :) Infelizmente, a convenção vai ter lugar na Austrália, o que... limita um pouco a minha possibilidade de participação eheheheheheh. Mas não faz mal. Vou continuar a desenvolver as minhas capacidades nesta área e pode ser que, para o ano,consiga lá ir ;)

I got an invitation to participate on a facial painting international convention! The Australian girl who I got training from has recommended me as a guest :) Unfortunately, the convention is going to be held in Australia and that... well, that narrows my chances to participate a little bit ehehehehehheh. But that's ok. I'll just continue to improve my skills and maybe next year I'll be able to go ;)

De volta/Back

Agora que acabaram as férias, espero retomar a actividade... Estou cheia de vontade de pintar e até já tenho onde praticar! Pois é! Arranjei uma cabeça sintética para poder dar largas à imaginação sem ter que chatear o pessoal de casa ;)

Now the holidays are over, it's time to get backto work... I can't wait to start painting again, especially now, that I've got the perfect thing to practise on! I purchased a synthetic head and now I can practise all I want without bugging everyone around to act as a model ;)

Férias /Holidays

Afinal não consegui a licença para pintar caras em Albufeira... Tenho que continuar a tentar! Como não pude trabalhar, aproveitei para ir à praia, descansar, brincar com os meus cães e pensar em novos desenhos para pintar. A minha sobrinha Mariana esteve comigo uma semana, e aproveitei para experimentar alguns desenhos novos nela. Ficou bem gira ;)

I didn´t get the licence to paint in Albufeira after all... I have to keep on trying! Since I couldn't work, I took the time to go to the beach, relax, play with my dogs and think about new face painting designs. Mariana, my niece, spent a week with us, so I've tried some new designs on her. It came out really nice ;)

Quase de férias.../ Almost on holidays

É verdade, as férias estão quase aí :) Duas semanas de muita praia, descanso e, se tudo correr bem, muitos narizes pintados! Pedi uma licença para pintar caras no centro de Albufeira. Se ma concederem, vou ter umas férias cheias de trabalho... mas muito divertidas!

It's real, holidays are almost here :) Two hole weeks of rest, beach and, if my plans go well, loads of face painting! I've asked for a license for doing face painting on the city centre of Albufeira. If they grant it to me, I'll have some busy holidays... but I'll also have a lot of fun!

Um jantar original/An original dinner party

O jantar em casa da minha irmã foi um sucesso! Correu muito bem e divertimo-nos imenso :) A minha contribuição foi levar as tintas e pintar o pessoal todo. Aqui fica uma amostra...

The dinner party at my sister's was a success! It went really well and we had a lot of fun :) My contribution consisted on taking my paints and paint everybody there. Here's a peek...

Trabalho... Finalmente!/ Finally... Some work!

Hoje tive finalmente trabalho! Fui pintar uma menina para uma peça da escola. Já a tinha pintado antes, no dia da Criança, e a mãe dela resolveu contactar-me para este trabalho. Foi muito divertido e correu muito bem. Aqui fica então uma foto da Mariana pintada de gato ;) Espero que a peça tenha sido um enorme sucesso. Um grande beijinho para esta gatinha tão simpática.

Today I finally got a gig! I painted a little girl for her school play. I had painted her before, on Children's Day, and then her mother decided to contact me to do this today. It went really well and it was a lot of fun. So, here it is, a picture of Mariana painted as a cat ;) I hope the play was a huge success. A big kiss for a nice kitten.

Higiene/Hygiene

Como em qualquer outra actividade, a pintura facial requer alguns cuidados... Assim, há regras de higiene que tento cumprir sem excepção:

• utilização de uma esponja nova/lavada por pessoa
• lavagem/substituição do material (pincéis, esponjas, paletes, água) a cada pintura
• a pintura dos lábios é feita com cotonettes (para evitar qualquer tipo de contágio)

Assim, posso pintar narizes com mooooooontes de riscos mas sem risco nenhum ;)

Just like in any other activity, face painting requires some care... Therefore, there are hygiene rules I try to keep without exception:

• use of a new/washed clean sponge per person
• wash/substitution of the materials (brushes, sponges, palettes, water) after each painting
• use of a cotton bud for lip painting (to avoyd any kind of infection)

This way, I can paint loooooooooooooooooads of faces with nooooooooooooo problems ;)

Fim-de-semana em familia/Family weekend

Este fim-de-semana diverti-me imenso! Fui a casa e levei as tintas... Fartei-me de pintar o pessoal lá em casa :) Experimentei uns quantos desenhos e serviu para praticar. Alguém acredita que esta é a minha mãe? eheheheheh

I went home for the weekend and had a lot of fun! I took my painting kit along... And did a lot of painting on my family :) I've tried out a couple of new designs and practised a bit. Can you believe this is my mom? eheheheheh

Pesquisa / Research

Tenho andado na internet a investigar sobre pintura facial e cada vez me interesso mais pela actividade. É muito divertido e desafiante. Agora só me falta trabalhar ;)

I've been searching the internet for things about facial painting and I'm getting more and more interested in the activity. It's challenging and a lot of fun. Now I just need to work ;)
